Spidex Software completes multi-site Mainsaver CMMS upgrade for major chicken producer
Spidex Software has successfully completed a multi-site Mainsaver CMMS upgrade for one of the UK’s largest
fresh chicken producers. The company, which supplies one of the UK’s best-known supermarket chains, has a
Mainsaver installation that operates across 5 facilities, accesses 7 Terminal Services machines and serves a
group-wide total of around 200 users. The installation also interfaces with the company’s Great Plains financial
system.
Spidex upgraded the whole environment to Mainsaver 10.2 with no disruption to day-to-day operations.“The whole exercise went very smoothly,” says Malcolm Stevens, Engineering Systems Manager. “Working with
Spidex, we looked at what areas of the system might be affected and set up a test environment to ensure there
were no problems. After that preparatory work, we only actually required one day at each site to perform the
upgrade.”
Now that Mainsaver 10.2 has been put through its paces in a live environment, a number of its new features
have made an immediate impact. “The addition of an asset hierarchy in Shop Floor has already proved its
worth,” Malcolm Stevens confirms. “Our users can now see a visual representation of all the site’s assets and
can locate the one they’re looking for in seconds. Another great new feature is the facility to use our own
internal project numbers within Mainsaver, giving us increased accuracy on the lifetime cost of each asset. And
in the Reports module, some of the new standalone graphical outputs are quite brilliant.”
