Customizing Mainsaver Services
An important part of streamlining your operations is to customize the work environment for the specific roles of the
Mainsaver user. Third party tools such as PowerBuilder, InfoMaker and Crystal Reports enable you to easily customize
Mainsaver so you only see or report on the data relevant to your organization. If you do not have the staff or time to learn
how to do this yourself, Mainsaver Consultants can do it for you. Shave precious time off of your data entry or customize
reports with Mainsaver’s Customization Services.
Customizing Mainsaver Screens with PowerBuilder
You can redesign Mainsaver’s screens to see the data relevant to you or create custom reports with just the information you
need. We offer classes in PowerBuilder in San Diego and over the Web, or we can do the customizations for you.
Some examples of the screens and reports we can customize are:
> Any input or edit screen, e.g. new Work Order, PM, or Asset
> Any table view (the screen you see after clicking on the retrieve button)
> Any standard report and list reports located in every module
> Rearrange or resize the columns in the table view
> Make certain records in a table view turn different colors for alerts purposes, e.g. overdue Work Orders
> Add a field to the printed work order or the work order new / edit screen
> Add a “pull down” field to an input screen and have the contents show information contained elsewhere in
Mainsaver
> Add your company's logo or legal information to the printed Purchase Order
Customizing Reports with InfoMaker and Crystal Reports
InfoMaker and Crystal Reports are report writing applications that give you the ability to analyze and display data in any manner
you wish. With PowerBuilder, the standard reports in Mainsaver can be modified. If you need a custom report, you'll need a report
writer to create them. InfoMaker and Crystal Reports are both great report writing tools, both with the same capabilities. Our
Education Services group offers courses on both of these programs. Or we can create them for you with our customization
